Actually, people are good by nature and you’re a fool if you think otherwise.

When you sneeze in public, strangers will say “bless you”, even though they don’t know you.

When you ask for directions on the street someone will show you the way, even though they have nothing to gain from it.

People squeeze their legs against the chair so you don’t have to hop over them on your way to your seat in the theatre, and make funny faces to make babies laugh, and purposefully step on leaves to hear them scrunch, and hold the door open for someone leaving behind them, and ask what floor you’re heading to when you enter the elevator, and send others photos of things that reminded them of them, and recommend each other songs, and ask if anyone else wants a coffee because they’re getting one, and make videos teaching how to sew a button, and wish on shooting stars, and share fun facts, and listen to others rant about things they don’t even understand, and let you cross the street first, and give a bit of their food to others, and laugh at jokes they don’t find funny to make you feel good, and listen to kids talk for hours about nonsense, and let you know your keys fell from your pocket, and they may be strangers, but with every little gesture they’re saying “I love you, I love you, I love you”.

God, I needed to read this today. Humanity is overwhelmingly full of hope and kindness and it’s very easy to forget that these days.

Doctor Who is so funny because it’s a weird sci-fi tv show with a terrible budget and regularly awful little monsters but it’s still out here saying being able to save one person at least is better than none, no one in the world is unimportant, horrors do not need to beget horrors sometimes they can turn people kind, mostly all over the universe you will find Good people mostly people are trying to be good, nothing bright is ever wasted, no one is ever alone, the world may look like it’s ending but hold on and maybe it won’t, love is given not earnt but it must be given, nothing is more important than making sure there are no children crying silently in corners

Oh some of you missed it, okay, so this movie was set to hit theaters exactly when all theaters were shut down for the quarantine and rather than delay it they took a chance at releasing it direct to home streaming from day one, the first time a major studio has ever done so, and yeah the numbers can be chalked up heavily to families stuck at home with nothing to do but they still weren’t expecting it to make 100 million dollars in just a couple weeks, especially not when the whole family just has to pay for it once instead of a bunch of tickets.

It was such a STAGGERING success that it opened up discussion over whether movies actually need theaters anymore, whether the profits are only being held back by how much time, energy and money it takes for consumers to arrange a whole trip out to see a new release, and pretty much the only real conclusion being drawn is a resounding “yes, and that should have been patently obvious.”

It had more studios rush to put things out for streaming and they continue to be making more money than they ever imagined, even factoring in all that collective cabin fever. It also has the Academy Awards changing their rules this year to include non-theatrical releases for the first time.

Trolls World Tour might go down as one of the most important, most industry-shattering works in cinematic history, albeit not necessarily for its actual content (which is cute by the way, worth seeing).

When you pester your way into a major motion picture and its success ends up possibly destroying the entire industry

Y'know what I really fuckin hate?

Tiny houses.

Not the concept, the notion, the Platonic ideal of a low-cost low-impact high-efficiency dwelling. That’s great. That’s awesome.

What really imagines my dragons is that in practice about 9 times out of 10 tiny house communities are just a way for rich hipsters to finally fulfil their greatest fantasy:

They found a way to fucking gentrify the trailer park

listen i know you’re making a point here but i cant stop thinking about ‘imagines my dragons’
